Welcome to Our New Website – Supporting St. Mary’s Home in Myanmar

·

Hello and thank you for visiting our newly updated website for the Foundation! This refreshed platform marks a major step forward in our mission to support St. Mary’s Home for Children in Myanmar, a long-running initiative led by Father Joe and Rocky.

Over the years, they’ve raised over $100,000 USD to provide food, shelter, education, and care to the children at St. Mary’s. I joined the Foundation’s Board last year after building an initial website to help the organization qualify for the Benevity corporate giving platform—a requirement tied to my own employer’s donation program.

Why We Rebuilt the Website

Our original site was built using an HTML template and hosted via Cloudflare. While it served its initial purpose well, it also came with limitations in scalability and functionality. Managing technical updates became increasingly time-consuming and limited my time to actually fundraise.

As of this year, we’ve officially migrated to WordPress, a reliable and widely-used content management system. Our new hosting provider handles updates and maintenance, freeing us to focus on our mission of supporting children in Myanmar. The move to WordPress also enables us to:

  • Improve donation security and transparency
  • Expand the website’s features and resources over time
  • Provide a better experience for visitors and supporters
  • Responsibly handle donor information with trusted tools

New Features – More Ways to Get Involved

With the website upgrade, we’ve added a few key features:

  • An improved contact form – Reach out if you’d like to get involved or learn more. I’ll personally monitor submissions.
  • An online donation button – For the first time, we’re able to accept donations securely online using GiveWP, a trusted nonprofit fundraising plugin. Learn more at givewp.com.

While Father Joe and Rocky have historically raised funds through their local networks using checks, cash, and other offline means, the online donation platform adds a new layer of accessibility for supporters across the country—especially for people like myself whose networks are primarily digital.

Transparency and Responsible Stewardship

We want to be clear: no donor funds were used to build or host this website. All associated costs have been covered personally. As a supporter and volunteer, I remain committed to ensuring that the majority of every donation goes directly toward helping the children of St. Mary’s Home, not administrative overhead.

As a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit based in Palm Bay, Florida, we take donor stewardship seriously. Our EIN is 47-0964593, and we are fully compliant with federal and state nonprofit regulations.

What’s Next

Our goal is to continue growing the site with additional information about:

  • The history and mission of St. Mary’s Home
  • Annual updates and progress reports from the Foundation
  • New opportunities to give, volunteer, or get involved

We’ve also launched a News section—and this post marks the first official entry. While we plan to publish just one or two updates per year, you may see a few more in the near term as we get fully up and running.

Your support makes a real, visible difference. We believe in transparency, impact, and dignity, and this site will help us show how your generosity changes lives.

Thank you again for being part of this journey.

Warmly,
Nick
Board Member, The Children Charitable Foundation of Myanmar
